My end of term reflection 

WALT: evaluate our learning honestly

What is an effective learner?  
A effective learner is someone who listens and someone who thinks for them self and always stays on task.

What were the highlights for this term? 
Seed To Table because you get to make and eat lots of yummy food and learn lots about gardening.

What were your greatest challenges this term?  Why? 
Grass hopper tennis because I couldn't slice the cheese. (slicing the cheese is hitting the ball with the side of the racket)

How are you going towards acting with integrity? Why?  How could you improve? 
I think I could improve with picking stuff up, like pens and stuff like that in stead of just walking past.

What are your goals in our learner disposition wall?  Where to next? 
I am at self directed my goal is to know my goals without a teacher telling me.

Grass Hopper Tennis

WALT:  improve our small ball skills like throwing, catching, and hitting.

Description:  We have been participating in a tennis programme with Big John (John Salisbury) from Tennis Manawatu


He has taught us some tennis skills that help with controlling and hitting the ball 
Thanks to Big John from Tennis Manawatu for coming along each Friday to teach us some tennis skills.



Evaluation:
What are you most proud of and why?
I can now do patting the dog.

What challenged you the most and Why?
Cutting the cheese because you have to hit the ball withthe side of the racet

Buddys show integrity YAY!!!!

WALT: Communicate a message with others.

  • Create a story board showing the beginning, middle and end of our message.I think we only had a beinning and a middle.
  • ●  Use Puppet Pals as a tool to share our message.That part was kind of diffecult but kind of easy.
  • ●  Keep our audience engaged. 


WALT: Show integrity

  • Everyone in our group has contributed evenly. I think every one contributed evenly that part was kind of hard though because someone was being silly so it was hard.
  • ●  Integrity is the main theme of our message. I think we did half and half one part of it was kotahitanga and part of it was integrity.

DESCRIPTION: We have been learning about integrity. We want to share our understanding with others

Description:Write an explanation about something you have learned about energy.
S.C:
  • use a range of verbs (evaporate, melt, etc.)

Evaluation: I think my sample needs work but other than I think I did well.

Newtons Cradle


Do you know what a newtons cradle is?
A newtons cradle is model made by sir Isaac Newton.
He made to help people understand kinetic and potential energy.

For example when you rub your hands together they are getting warmer because you are applying fiction.

Just like when you get bucket of beads and leave a bit hanging out of the side and pull it, if you pull in hard enough it will fall out by it;s self because one side is heaver then the other.

If you get a tennis ball and a basket ball and hold them both up then drop them at the same time you will find that the basket ball will bounce higher and for longer because it has more potential energy.

Science Sample

WALT: show our understanding of how energy works. 

DESCRIPTION: Each week we have been learning about a different type of energy.  For example, States of Matter, Kinetic and Potential, Radiation, Conduction and Convection.

SC:

Gathering Data
I can gather infomation using my 5 sences

I can share my findings using evidence I have gathered

Task: Make a video (no longer than 30 seconds) about on 
energy. i.e. States of matter, Potential and Kinetic energy, Newtons Cradle or forms of energy like Radiation, Convection, Conduction.example of   

What makes a good video:
- clear voices  I don't think we did very well at that because of the wind was really loud 
- different camera angles we defiantly used different camera angles  
- Still camera skills We did not really do that because we had to swap the camera person.  
- mute background noise   we did not do that ether because there was lots of wind in the backround
- mixture of still and moving images  yes we did that
- background distractions there were no background distractions 
- music we added music with iMovie

 think that tabitha has a really clear voice that is good and she has explaned what gas is really well and our  video is only 30 secs and that is just the rite time!

Spelling Mnomic

WALT: Make a mnomic as a merory aid to rember spelling word
 Purpse: we did this to remember our spelling words
Process: It took me 5 days just to make this pic collage!
Evaluation: I think I did pretty well next time I could get it done sooner.
Buddy Feed-Back: well done this is awesome you really made it colourful next time you should make the word a different color to the backround.
